Review for What Looks Like Crazy
Author: Charlotte Hughes
Date of Review: 01/20/08
Reviewed by: Stacy Cooper

Reviewer Comments: Ms. Hughes takes a humorous approach to her latest novel What Looks Like Crazy. In it the reader is introduced to Katie Holly, a psychologist. Her life is in shambles because she is in the midst of a divorce, trying to run a business and her family just can’t seem to leave her alone. Add to that an ex-boyfriend who loves to send her crazy patients and it’s not hard to see why she’s a little batty herself.

Now someone is threatening her and she has no idea who it could possibly be. What’s a girl to do to keep from going as crazy as her patients?

Ms. Hughes is upfront with her reasons for writing this story. She tells her readers that she is writing about something she knows of from experience and that she’s poking fun. The humor is the kind that grows on the reader. Overall, it is a comedic look at one woman’s messed up life.

The secondary characters play major roles in this story and sometimes steal the spotlight from the main character. They are interesting and fun to watch and really bring the story to life. The psychiatric patients are especially fun to read about.

What Looks Like Crazy will make the readers laugh out loud. It will also make readers nod their head in understanding at some of the situations and shake their heads in disbelief at other times. In the end, it will take them into the chaotic world of a comedic, contemporary romance novel and away from the real world for a time.
