Joanne Rock danced for days when she sold her first book to the Harlequin Temptation line in 2001. She positively tangoed when she sold two Blaze books and another Temptation novel six weeks later. A Golden Heart winner, Joanne won several writing awards prior to the release of her works.|
Although Joanne began writing medieval historical novels early in her career, she read the Temptation line faithfully for years, thinking one day she would tackle a contemporary story. The opportunity presented itself when Harlequin announced that they were taking the Temptation Blaze stories to a new level and unveiling an all-new Blaze line. As part of its effort to discover new talent for the line, it was holding a nationwide writers’ contest. Inspired, Joanne experimented with contemporary characters and couldn’t stop writing once she got started! She entered a 10-page love scene in the contest and tied for second in the unpublished division. Encouraged by Harlequin and even more inspired, she finished the book and submitted it. Now, she enjoys writing sizzling stories for both the Temptation and Blaze lines, and she’s discovered two series to read faithfully!
A former college teacher, public relations coordinator, and copywriter, Joanne has a master’s degree in English from the University of Louisville. She chose to start writing romance when she became a stay-at-home mom. She enjoys her gypsy lifestyle with her sports-editor husband and has lived in five different states in their first seven years of marriage. Now the mother of three boys, Joanne finds that writing provides a delightful counterpoint to playing Hot Wheels.
