Kristin Harmel (born May 4, 1979) is an American journalist and novelist.
Born in Newton, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, Harmel gained her first writing experience at the age of 16 as a sports reporter for the St. Petersburg Times, which ranks as one of the nation's top 10 newspapers, and Tampa Bay AllSports magazine while still attending Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Valedictorian of her high school class, Harmel graduated summa cum laude from the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida in 2001. Since that time, she has been a reporter for PEOPLE magazine. Her work has appeared in dozens of other publications, including Men's Health, Glamour, YM, Teen People, People en Español, and Who.
She is the author of the chick-lit novel How to Sleep With a Movie Star, released in February 2006 by Warner Books.
Kristin appears regularly on The Daily Buzz television program, where, as the "Lit Chick," she reviews books of the chick lit genre.
Kristin Harmel resides in Orlando, Florida.
