Linda Conrad claims her mother gave her a deep love for storytelling and romance. In fact, one of her earliest pleasant memories is of being taken to the library and spending all day picking out a favorite book.
She enjoys growing roses, driving her little convertible in the sunshine, and reading clever cozy mysteries and sensual fun love stories. However, her real passion is passion -- both writing it and living with it. She believes true passion and intensity for life and love are seductive things, they consume the soul and make life worthwhile.
Born in Brazil to a commercial pilot and his wife, Linda Conrad was raised in Florida and has been a dreamer and storyteller for as long as she can remember.
When Linda met her dream-come-true hero, they became vagabonds, moving to seven different states in seven years. Twice so far in their lives they've sold everything, packed up and traveled the countryside in a motorhome, meeting new people and making lasting friendships. On a whim, they traveled to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas (to see the grapefruit trees in bloom) and stayed -- for seventeen years.
Anchored to her Texas home, Linda raised a daughter and built a business as a stockbroker and Certified Financial Planner. Her whole world changed suddenly when her widowed mother suffered a disabling stroke and Linda took a leave of absence to move to southern California and became her mother's caretaker. Before her mother's death a year later, she begged Linda to go back to her dreams. To once again tell the stories buried inside her for so long.
While making new friends in California and working hard at her new business of writing, she also acquired a new member of the family, a Siamese-mix cat named Sam. Linda says Sam is a good ol' boy and sits on her computer to 'help' her write the stories.
Linda, her husband, and Sam recently moved back to south Florida. Two people, two cars, one rented trailer ... and one cat ... was quite a procession across country. But now they are quite all happily at home in the place where they started their lives together.
Extremely grateful to be living her life-long dream of sharing the sensual characters and passionate stories that live within her heart, Linda loves writing for Silhouette Desire.
